Hosea 12
1Ephraim feeds on 2 and chases the east wind. 2 He continually multiplies lies and desolation. 2 They make a covenant with Assyria, 2 and oil is carried into Egypt. 1
2The 2 and will punish Jacob according to his ways; 2 according to his deeds he will repay him. 1
3In 2 and in his manhood he contended with God. 1
4Indeed, he struggled with 2 he wept, and made supplication to him. 2 He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us— 2
5even the 2 The LORD is his name of renown! 1
6Therefore 2 Keep kindness and justice, 2 and wait continually for your God. 1
7A 2 He loves to defraud. 1
8Ephraim said, “Surely I 2 I have found myself wealth. 2 In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.” 1
9“ But 2 I will yet again make you dwell in tents, 2 as in the days of the solemn feast. 1
10I 2 and I have multiplied visions; 2 and by the ministry of the prophets I have used parables. 1
11If Gilead is 2 surely they are worthless. 1 In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. 2 Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field. 1
12Jacob fled into 2 Israel served to get a wife. 2 For a wife he tended flocks and herds. 1
13By 2 and by a prophet he was preserved. 1
14Ephraim has 2 Therefore his blood will be left on him, 2 and his Lord + 12:14 The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” will repay his contempt.
