Hosea 8

“ Put 2 Something like an eagle is over the LORD’s house, 2 because they have broken my covenant 2 and rebelled against my law. 1

They 2

Israel 2 The enemy will pursue him. 1

They 2 They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. 2 Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, 2 that they may be cut off. 1

Let 2 My anger burns against them! 2 How long will it be until they are capable of purity? 1

For 2 The workman made it, and it is no God; 2 indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces. 1

For 2 and they will reap the whirlwind. 1 He has no standing grain. 2 The stalk will yield no head. 2 If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up. 1

Israel 2 Now they are amongst the nations like a worthless thing. 1

For 2 like a wild donkey wandering alone. 2 Ephraim has hired lovers for himself. 1

But 2 I will now gather them; 2 and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones. 1

Because 2 they became for him altars for sinning. 1

I 2 but they were regarded as a strange thing. 1

As 2 they sacrifice meat and eat it, 2 but the LORD doesn’t accept them. 1 Now he will remember their iniquity, 2 and punish their sins. 2 They will return to Egypt. 1

For 2 and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; 2 but I will send a fire on his cities, 2 and it will devour its fortresses.”
