Isaiah 66

The 1 “ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. 2 What kind of house will you build to me? 2 Where will I rest? 1

For 2 and so all these things came to be,” says the LORD: 1 “ but I will look to this man, 2 even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, 2 and who trembles at my word. 1

He 2 he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; 2 he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; 2 he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. 1 Yes, they have chosen their own ways, 2 and their soul delights in their abominations. 1

I 2 and will bring their fears on them, 1 because when I called, no one answered; 2 when I spoke, they didn’t listen, 1 but they did that which was evil in my eyes, 2 and chose that in which I didn’t delight.” 1

Hear 2 you who tremble at his word: 1 “ Your brothers who hate you, 2 who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, 1 ‘Let the LORD be glorified, 2 that we may see your joy;’ 2 but it is those who shall be disappointed. 1

A 2 a voice from the temple, 2 a voice of the LORD that repays his enemies what they deserve. 1

“ Before 2 Before her pain came, she delivered a son. 1

Who 2 Who has seen such things? 1 Shall a land be born in one day? 2 Shall a nation be born at once? 1 For as soon as Zion travailed, 2 she gave birth to her children. 1

Shall 2 “ Shall I who cause to give birth shut the womb?” says your God. 1

“ Rejoice 2 Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her; 1

that 2 that you may drink deeply, 2 and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.” 1

For 2 and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream, 2 and you will nurse. 1 You will be carried on her side, 2 and will be dandled on her knees. 1

As 2 so I will comfort you. 2 You will be comforted in Jerusalem.” 1

You 2 and your bones will flourish like the tender grass. 1 The LORD’s hand will be known amongst his servants; 2 and he will have indignation against his enemies. 1

For 2 and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; 1 to give his anger with fierceness, 2 and his rebuke with flames of fire. 1

For 2 and those slain by the LORD will be many.
