Job 20
1Then 1
2“ Therefore 2 even by reason of my haste that is in me. 1
3I 2 The spirit of my understanding answers me. 1
4Don’t you 2 since man was placed on earth, 1
5that 2 the joy of the godless but for a moment? 1
6Though his 2 and his head reach to the clouds, 1
7yet he 2 Those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’ 1
8He 2 Yes, he will be chased away like a vision of the night. 1
9The 2 neither will his place see him any more. 1
10His 2 His hands will give back his wealth. 1
11His 2 but youth will lie down with him in the dust. 1
12“Though wickedness 2 though he hide it under his tongue, 1
13though he 2 but keep it still within his mouth, 1
14yet his 2 It is cobra venom within him. 1
15He 2 God will cast them out of his belly. 1
16He will 2 The viper’s tongue will kill him. 1
17He 2 the flowing streams of honey and butter. 1
18He 2 He will not rejoice according to the substance that he has gotten. 1
19For 2 He has violently taken away a house, and he will not build it up. 1
20“ Because 2 he will not save anything of that in which he delights. 1
21There was 2 therefore his prosperity will not endure. 1
22In 2 The hand of everyone who is in misery will come on him. 1
23When 2 It will rain on him while he is eating. 1
24He will 2 The bronze arrow will strike him through. 1
25He 2 Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. 2 Terrors are on him. 1
26All 2 An unfanned fire will devour him. 2 It will consume that which is left in his tent. 1
27The 2 The earth will rise up against him. 1
28The 2 They will rush away in the day of his wrath. 1
29This 2 the heritage appointed to him by God.”
