Joel 2

Blow 2 and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! 1 Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, 2 for the day of the LORD comes, 2 for it is close at hand: 1

A 2 a day of clouds and thick darkness. 1 As the dawn spreading on the mountains, 2 a great and strong people; 2 there has never been the like, 2 neither will there be any more after them, 2 even to the years of many generations. 1

A 2 and behind them, a flame burns. 1 The land is as the garden of Eden before them, 2 and behind them, a desolate wilderness. 1 Yes, and no one has escaped them. 1

Their 2 and they run as horsemen. 1

Like 2 like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, 2 like a strong people set in battle array. 1

At 2 All faces have grown pale. 1

They 2 They climb the wall like warriors. 2 They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course. 1

One 2 They each march in their own path. 2 They burst through the defences 2 and don’t break ranks. 1

They 2 They run on the wall. 2 They climb up into the houses. 2 They enter in at the windows like thieves. 1

The 2 The heavens tremble. 2 The sun and the moon are darkened, 2 and the stars withdraw their shining. 1

The 2 for his forces are very great; 2 for he is strong who obeys his command; 2 for the day of the LORD is great and very awesome, 2 and who can endure it? 1

“ Yet 2 and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” 1

Tear 2 and turn to the LORD, your God; 2 for he is gracious and merciful, 2 slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, 2 and relents from sending calamity. 1

Who 2 and leave a blessing behind him, 2 even a meal offering and a drink offering to the LORD, your God. 1

Blow 2 Sanctify a fast. 2 Call a solemn assembly. 1

Gather 2 Sanctify the assembly. 2 Assemble the elders. 2 Gather the children, and those who nurse from breasts. 1 Let the bridegroom go out of his room, 2 and the bride out of her chamber. 1

Let 2 and let them say, “ Spare your people, LORD, 2 and don’t give your heritage to reproach, 2 that the nations should rule over them. 1 Why should they say amongst the peoples, 2 ‘ Where is their God?’” 1

Then 2 and had pity on his people. 1

The 2 “ Behold, + 2:19 “Behold”, from “ הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, 2 and you will be satisfied with them; 2 and I will no more make you a reproach amongst the nations. 1

But 2 and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, 2 its front into the eastern sea, 2 and its back into the western sea; 2 and its stench will come up, 2 and its bad smell will rise.” 1 Surely he has done great things. 1

Land, don’t be 2 Be glad and rejoice, for the LORD has done great things. 1

Don’t be 2 for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, 2 for the tree bears its fruit. 2 The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. 1

“ Be 2 and rejoice in the LORD, your God; 2 for he gives you the early rain in just measure, 2 and he causes the rain to come down for you, 2 the early rain and the latter rain, as before. 1

The 2 and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. 1

I 2 the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, 2 my great army, which I sent amongst you. 1

You 2 and will praise the name of the LORD, your God, 2 who has dealt wondrously with you; 2 and my people will never again be disappointed. 1

You 2 and that I am the LORD, your God, and there is no one else; 2 and my people will never again be disappointed. 1

“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; 2 and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. 2 Your old men will dream dreams. 2 Your young men will see visions. 1

And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days, 2 I will pour out my Spirit. 1

I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth: 2 blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. 1

The sun will be turned into darkness, 2 and the moon into blood, 2 before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes. 1

It will happen that whoever will call on the LORD 2 for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, 2 as the LORD has said, 2 and amongst the remnant, those whom the LORD calls.
