Judges 5
1And Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam sang in that day, saying, 1

5The mountains were shaken before the face of the Lord Eloi, 1 This Sinai before the face of the Lord God of Israel. 1
6In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, 1 They deserted the ways, and went in byways; 1 They went in crooked paths. 1
7The mighty men in Israel failed, 1 They failed until Deborah arose, 1 Until she arose a mother in Israel. 1
8They chose new gods; 1 Then the cities of rulers fought; 1 There was not a shield or spear seen 1 Among forty thousand in Israel. 1
9My heart inclines to the orders given in Israel; 1 Ye that are willing among the people, bless the Lord. 1
10Ye that mount a she-ass at noonday, 1 Ye that sit on the judgment seat, 1 And walk by the roads of them that sit in judgment by the way; 1 Declare
11ye that are delivered from the noise of disturbers 1 Among the drawers of water; 1 There shall they relate righteous acts: 1 O Lord, increase righteous acts in Israel: 1 Then the people of the Lord went down to the cities. 1
12Awake, awake, Deborah; 1 Awake, awake, utter a song: 1 Arise, Barak, 1 And lead thy captivity captive, son of Abinoam. 1
13Then went down the remnant to the strong, 1 The people of the Lord went down for him among the mighty ones from me. 1
14Ephraim rooted them out in Amalek, 1 Behind thee was Benjamin among thy people: 1 The inhabitants of Machir came down with me searching out the enemy, 1 And from Zebulun came they that draw with the scribe’s pen of record. 1
15And princes in Issachar were with Deborah and Barak, 1 Thus she sent Barak on his feet in the valleys 1 Into the portions of Reuben; 1 Great pangs reached to the heart. 1
16Why did they sit between the sheepfolds 1 To hear the bleating of flocks 1 For the divisions of Reuben? 1 There were great searchings of heart. 1
17Gilead is on the other side of Jordan where he pitched his tents; 1 And why does Dan remain in ships? 1 Asher sat down on the seacoasts, 1 And he will tabernacle at his ports. 1
18The people Zebulun exposed their soul to death, 1 And Naphtali came to the high places of their land. 1
19Kings set themselves in array, 1 Then the kings of Canaan fought 1 In Taanach at the water of Megiddo; 1 They took no gift of money. 1
20The stars from heaven set themselves in array, 1 They set themselves to fight with Sisera out of their paths. 1
21The brook of Kishon swept them away, 1 The ancient brook, the brook Kishon: 1 My mighty soul will trample him down. 1
22When the hoofs of the horse were entangled, 1 His mighty ones earnestly hastened 1
23To curse Meroz: Curse ye it, said the angel of the Lord; 1 Cursed is everyone that dwells in it, 1 Because they came not to the help of the Lord, 1 To his help among the mighty. 1
24Blessed among women be Jael 1 Wife of Heber the Kenite; 1 Let her be blessed above women in tents. 1
25He asked for water, she gave him milk in a dish; 1 She brought butter of princes. 1
26She stretched forth her left hand to the nail, 1 And her right hand to the workman’s hammer, 1 And she smote Sisera with it, she nailed through his head and smote him; 1 She nailed through his temples. 1
27He rolled down between her feet; 1 He fell and lay between her feet; 1 He bowed and fell: 1 Where he bowed, there he fell dead. 1
28The mother of Sisera looked down through the window out of the loophole, 1 Saying, Why was his chariot ashamed? 1 Why did the wheels of his chariots tarry? 1
29Her wise ladies answered her, 1 And she returned answers to herself, saying, 1
30Will they not find him dividing the spoil? 1 He will surely be gracious to every man: 1 There are spoils of dyed garments for Sisera, 1 Spoils of various dyed garments, 1 Dyed embroidered garments, they are the spoils for his neck. 1
31Thus let all thine enemies perish, O Lord: 1 And they that love him shall be as the going forth of the sun in his strength. And the land had rest forty years.
