But 2 You took one of my wives, and you slept with her, like a man sleeps with his wife. 2 That was a wrong and dirty thing you did. You made me really shamed. 2 So you will not be my most important son any more.” 2 Jacob talked about Simeon and Levi
Then Jacob said, 1 “ Simeon and Levi are just like each other. 2 They both like to fight, and they use long knives to hurt people and kill them. 1
They 2 They are like people that caught a lot of cows and cut their legs, for no reason. 1 They make secret plans, but I will not do that with them. 2 I will not go with them to do bad things. 1

Jacob also 1 “ My son Judah is like a strong young lion, 2 like a lion that fought another animal and won, 2 like a lion that killed an animal and ate it. 1 He is like a lion that lies down to sleep, 2 and nobody is brave enough to wake it up. * 49:9 Numbers 24:9; Revelation 5:5 1

Dan 2 They will wait for their enemies, like a snake hiding beside the road. 1 They will attack their enemies, and they will win against those enemies, 2 like a snake that bites a horse’s leg, so that the man on the horse will fall down.” 2 Jacob talked to God
Then 2 Jacob talked about Gad
Then Jacob said, 1 “Bad men will attack Gad’s tribe, and those bad men will try to steal Gad’s things, 2 but Gad’s tribe will fight back and attack those men, and those men will run away.” 2 Jacob talked about Asher
Then 1 “Asher’s land will grow really good food. 2 That food will be so good, rich bosses will pay a lot of money to eat it.” 2 Jacob talked about Naphtali

Then 1 “Lots of people will be born into Joseph’s family. 2 Yes, Joseph’s family will grow big, just like a grape vine that grows near a spring of water, 2 and has lots of fruit. 2 Its branches are so long, they grow over a big wall. 1
Joseph’s enemies hated 2 they attacked him and made trouble for him. 1
But 2 God helped him to stand strong. 1 Yes, God, my God, he is the one that has all the power. 2 God looks after his people properly, just like a man looks after his sheep properly. 2 God is like solid rock, he keeps his people safe.”
Jacob kept on 1 “ My God will help you. 2 God has power over everything, and he will be good to you. 1 He will make rain come down from the sky, 2 and he will make water come up from springs under the ground, 2 so that your land will grow really good food. 1 You will have lots of kids and grand-kids, 2 and your animals will have lots of babies. 1
I 2 and they will be better than anything the old mountains can give you, 2 better than anything else on the earth.” Then Jacob said, 1 “ Joseph, you are more special than all your brothers, 2 so I’m asking God to give you all those good things.” 2 Jacob talked about Benjamin
Then Jacob said, 1 “ Benjamin’s tribe will be like a wild dog that is really hungry. 2 In the morning, they will kill their enemies and grab all their good things, 2 and in the night time, they will share those good things with each other.”
