2 Samuel 22
1David
2and 1 “ The LORD is my rock, 2 my fortress, 2 and my deliverer, even mine; 1
3God 2 my shield, and the horn of my salvation, 2 my high tower, and my refuge. 2 My savior, you save me from violence. 1
4I 2 So shall I be saved from my enemies. 1
5For 2 The floods of ungodliness made me afraid. 1
6The 2 The snares of death caught me. 1
7In 2 Yes, I called to my God. 1 He heard my voice out of his temple. 2 My cry came into his ears. 1
8Then 2 The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, 2 because he was angry. 1
9Smoke 2 Consuming fire came out of his mouth. 2 Coals were kindled by it. 1
10He 2 Thick darkness was under his feet. 1
11He 2 Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind. 1
12He 2 gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies. 1
13At the 2 coals of fire were kindled. 1
14The 2 The Most High uttered his voice. 1
15He 2 lightning and confused them. 1
16Then 2 The foundations of the world were laid bare by the LORD’s rebuke, 2 at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. 1
17He 2 He drew me out of many waters. 1
18He 2 from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. 1
19They 2 but the LORD was my support. 1
20He 2 He delivered me, because he delighted in me. 1
21The 2 He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands. 1
22For 2 and have not wickedly departed from my God. 1
23For 2 As for his statutes, I didn’t depart from them. 1
24I 2 I kept myself from my iniquity. 1
25Therefore 2 According to my cleanness in his eyesight. 1
26With 2 With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect. 2
27With 2 With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd. 1
28You 2 but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down. 1
29For 2 The LORD will light up my darkness. 1
30For 2 By my God, I leap over a wall. 1
31As 2 The LORD’s word is tested. 2 He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. 1
32For 2 Who is a rock, besides our God? 1
33God is 2 He makes my way perfect. 1
34He 2 and sets me on my high places. 1
35He 2 so that my arms bend a bow of bronze. 1
36You 2 Your gentleness has made me great. 1
37You 2 My feet have not slipped. 1
38I 2 I didn’t turn again until they were consumed. 1
39I 2 and struck them through, 2 so that they can’t arise. 2 Yes, they have fallen under my feet. 1
40For 2 You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. 1
41You 2 that I might cut off those who hate me. 1
42They 2 even to the LORD, but he didn’t answer them. 1
43Then I beat 2 I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad. 1
44You 2 You have kept me to be the head of the nations. 2 A people whom I have not known will serve me. 1
45The 2 As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me. 1
46The 2 and will come trembling out of their close places. 1
47The 2 Blessed be my rock! 1 Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation, 2
48even the 2 who brings down peoples under me, 2
49who brings 1 Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. 2 You deliver me from the violent man. 1
50Therefore 2 and will sing praises to your name. 1
51He 2 and shows loving kindness to his anointed, 2 to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
