Habakkuk 3
A tefillah of Chabakuk HaNavi. On Shigionoth. 1
Hashem, I have heard Thy speech, and was afraid; 1 Hashem, revive Thy work in the midst of the shanim, i 1 n the midst of the shanim make known; 1 in wrath remember mercy. 1
G-d came from Teman, 1 and HaKadosh from Mt Paran. 1 Selah. 1 His hod (glory) covered HaShomayim, 1 and ha'aretz was full of His tehillah (praise). 1
And His brightness was like the ohr; 1 He had rays of light flashing from His yad; 1 and there was His power hidden. 1
Before Him went the dever (plague), 1 and pestilence went forth at His feet. 1
He stood, and measured ha'aretz; 1 He beheld, and made the Goyim tremble; 1 and the everlasting mountains were scattered, 1 the perpetual hills did bow; 1 His ways are olam (everlasting). 1
I saw the tents of Kushan in affliction; 1 and the dwellings of Eretz Midyan did tremble. 1
Was Hashem displeased against the rivers? 1 Was Thine anger against the rivers? 1 Was Thy wrath against the yam, 1 that Thou didst ride upon Thine susim 1 and Thy merkavot of yeshu'ah (salvation)? 1
Thy keshet (bow) was made bare. 1 Oathes were sworn over mattot (rods, arrows). 1 Selah. 1 Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers. 1
The harim (mountains) saw Thee, and they trembled; 1 the overflowing of the water passed by; 1 the tehom (deep) uttered its voice, 1 and lifted up its hands on high. 1
The shemesh and yarei'ach stood still in their habitation; 1 at the ohr of Thine arrows they went, 1 and at the lightning of Thy glittering spear. 1
Thou didst march through the land in indignation, 1 Thou didst thresh the Goyim in anger. 1
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of Thy people, 1 even for deliverance of Thy Moshiach; 1 Thou crushed the rosh of the bais of the wicked, 1 Thou stripped him thigh to neck. 1 Selah. 1
Thou didst pierce with his spears the head of his horde; 1 they came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; 1 their rejoicing was like unto devouring the aniyim (the poor) in secret. 1
Thou didst walk through the yam with Thine susim, 1 through the heap of mayim rabbim. 1
When I heard, my heart trembled; 1 my lips quivered at the voice; 1 rottenness entered into my bones, 1 and I trembled in myself, 1 that I might wait patiently for the Yom Tzarah 1 to come on the nation invading us. 1
Although the etz te'enah shall not blossom, 1 neither shall grape be on the gefen; 1 the labor of the olive shall fail, 1 and the fields shall yield no okhel; 1 the tzon shall be cut off from the fold, 1 and there shall be no herd in the stalls; 1
Yet I will rejoice in Hashem, 1 I will joy in the G-d of my salvation. 1
Hashem Adonoi is my strength, 1 and He will make my feet like the feet of a deer, 1 and He will make me to walk upon mine high places. 1 To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
