Hosea 2

“ Say 2 and to your sisters, ‘ My loved one!’ + 2:1 ‘Ruhamah’ in Hebrew 1

Contend with 2 Contend, for she is not my wife, 2 neither am I her husband; 1 and let her put away her prostitution from her face, 2 and her adulteries from between her breasts; 1

lest I 2 and make her bare as in the day that she was born, 1 and make her like a wilderness, 2 and set her like a dry land, 2 and kill her with thirst. 1

Indeed 2 for they are children of unfaithfulness. 1

For 2 She who conceived them has done shamefully; 1 for she said, ‘ I will go after my lovers, 2 who give me my bread and my water, 2 my wool and my flax, 2 my oil and my drink.’ 1

Therefore הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. I 2 and I will build a wall against her, 2 that she can’t find her way. 1

She 2 but she won’t overtake them; 1 and she will seek them, 2 but won’t find them. 1 Then she will say, ‘ I will go and return to my first husband, 2 for then it was better with me than now.’ 1

For 2 and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal. 1

Therefore 2 and my new wine in its season, 2 and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness. 1

Now 2 and no one will deliver her out of my hand. 1

I 2 her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies. 1

I 2 about which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me,’ 2 and I will make them a forest, 2 and the animals of the field shall eat them. 1

I 2 to which she burned incense 1 when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, 2 and went after her lovers 2 and forgot me,” says the LORD. 1

“Therefore behold, I 2 and bring her into the wilderness, 2 and speak tenderly to her. 1

I 2 and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; 1 and she will respond there 2 as in the days of her youth, 2 and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. 1

It 2 “ that you will call me ‘ my husband,’ 2 and no longer call me ‘ my master.’ 1

For 2 and they will no longer be mentioned by name. 1

In 2 and with the birds of the sky, 2 and with the creeping things of the ground. 1 I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, 2 and will make them lie down safely. 1

I 2 Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. 1

I 2 and you shall know the LORD. 1

It 2 “I will respond to the heavens, 2 and they will respond to the earth; 2

and 2 and they will respond to Jezreel. 1

I 2 and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; 2 and I will tell those who were not my people, ‘ You are my people;’ 2 and they will say, ‘ You are My God!’”
