13Therefore 1 “ Ask now among the nations, 2 ‘ Who has heard such things?’ 2 The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing. 1
14Will 2 Will the cold waters that flow down from afar be dried up? 1
15For 2 They have burned incense to false gods. 1 They have been made to stumble in their ways 2 in the ancient paths, 2 to walk in byways, in a way not built up, 1
16to 2 and a perpetual hissing. 1 Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, 2 and shake his head. 1
17I 2 I will show them the back, and not the face, 2 in the day of their calamity.
18Then 1
19Give 2 and listen to the voice of those who contend with me. 1
20Should 2 For they have dug a pit for my soul. 1 Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, 2 to turn away your wrath from them. 1
21Therefore 2 and give them over to the power of the sword. 1 Let their wives become childless and widows. 2 Let their men be killed 2 and their young men struck by the sword in battle. 1
22Let a 2 when you bring a troop suddenly on them; 1 for they have dug a pit to take me 2 and hidden snares for my feet. 1
23Yet 2 Don’t forgive their iniquity. 2 Don’t blot out their sin from your sight, 1 Let them be overthrown before you. 2 Deal with them in the time of your anger.
