Hear 2 Don’t be proud, 2 for the LORD has spoken. 1
Give 2 before he causes darkness, 2 and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, 1 and while you look for light, 2 he turns it into the shadow of death, 2 and makes it deep darkness. 1
But 2 my soul will weep in secret for your pride. 1 My eye will weep bitterly, 2 and run down with tears, 2 because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive. 1
Say to 2 “ Humble yourselves. 1 Sit down, for your crowns have come down, 2 even the crown of your glory. 1
The 2 and there is no one to open them. 1 Judah is carried away captive: all of them. 2 They are wholly carried away captive. 1
Lift 2 and see those who come from the north. 1 Where is the flock that was given to you, 2 your beautiful flock? 1
What 2 Won’t sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail? 1
If 2 “ Why have these things come on me?” 1 Your skirts are uncovered because of the greatness of your iniquity, 2 and your heels suffer violence. 1
Can 2 or the leopard his spots? 1 Then may you also do good, 2 who are accustomed to do evil. 1
“Therefore I will 2 as the stubble that passes away 2 by the wind of the wilderness. 1
This 2 the portion measured to you from me,” says the LORD, 1 “ because you have forgotten me, 2 and trusted in falsehood.” 1
Therefore 2 and your shame will appear. 1
I 2 and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, 2 on the hills in the field. 1 Woe to you, Jerusalem! 2 You will not be made clean. 2 How long will it yet be?”
