7LORD 2 You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. 1 I have become a laughingstock all day. 2 Everyone mocks me. 1
8For 2 I cry, “ Violence and destruction!” 1 because the LORD’s word has been made a reproach to me, 2 and a derision, all day. 1
9If 2 or speak any more in his name, 1 then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones. 2 I am weary with holding it in. 2 I can’t. 1
10For 2 “ Terror on every side! 2 Denounce, and we will denounce him!” 1 say all my familiar friends, 2 those who watch for my fall. 1 “ Perhaps he will be persuaded, 2 and we will prevail against him, 2 and we will take our revenge on him.” 1
11But 2 Therefore my persecutors will stumble, 2 and they won’t prevail. 1 They will be utterly disappointed 2 because they have not dealt wisely, 2 even with an everlasting dishonour which will never be forgotten. 1
12But 2 who sees the heart and the mind, 1 let me see your vengeance on them, 2 for I have revealed my cause to you. 1
13Sing 2 Praise the LORD, 2 for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers. 1
14Cursed 2 Don’t let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. 1
15Cursed is 2 “ A boy is born to you,” making him very glad. 1
16Let 2 and didn’t repent. 1 Let him hear a cry in the morning, 2 and shouting at noontime, 1
17because he 2 So my mother would have been my grave, 2 and her womb always great. 1
18Why 2 that my days should be consumed with shame?
