Malachi 3
1Hineni, I will send malachi, 1 and he shall prepare the Derech before me: 1 and HaAdon (the L-rd) [Moshiach], + 3:1 Zech 4:14 whom ye seek, 1 shall suddenly come to His Heikhal, 1 even the Malach HaBrit, in whom ye have chafetz (delight): 1 hinei, He is coming, saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1
2But who may abide the Yom Bo'o (day of His coming)? 1 Who shall stand when He appeareth? 1 For He is like a refinerʼs eish, 1 and like fullersʼ soap: 1
3And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of kesef; 1 and He shall purify the Bnei Levi, 1 and purge them as zahav and kesef, 1 that they may offer unto Hashem 1 an offering in tzedakah. 1
4Then shall the offering of Yehudah and Yerushalayim 1 be pleasing unto Hashem, 1 as in the yamei olam (days of old), 1 and as in shanim kadmoniyyot (former years). 1
5And I will come near to you for mishpat; 1 and I will be a swift ed (witness) 1 against the mekhashfim (sorcerers), and against the mena'afim (adulterers), 1 and against false swearers, 1 and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, 1 the almanah (widow), and the fatherless, 1 and that turn aside the ger from his right, 1 and fear not Me, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1
6For I am Hashem, I change not; 1 therefore ye Bnei Ya'akov are not consumed. 1
7Even from the yamei avoteichem 1 ye are gone away from Mine chukkim, 1 and have not been shomer over them. 1 Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1 But ye said: Wherein shall we return? 1
8Will a man rob G-d? 1 Yet ye have robbed Me. 1 But ye say: Wherein have we robbed Thee? 1 In ma'aser (tithes) and terumah (offerings, contributions). + 3:8 Ex 20:15 1
9Ye are cursed with a me'erah (curse); 1 for ye have robbed Me, 1 even this whole Goy (nation). 1
10Bring ye kol hama'aser (all the tithes) into the Beis HaOtzar (House of the Treasury), 1 that there may be teref (food) in Mine Beis, + 3:10 Hamikdash 1 and prove Me now herewith, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os, 1 if I will not open you the windows of Shomayim, 1 and pour you out a brocha, 1 that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 1
11And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, 1 and he shall not destroy the p'ri ha'adamah; 1 neither shall your gefen cast her fruit before the time in the sadeh, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1
12And kol HaGoyim shall call you blessed; 1 for ye shall be an Eretz Chefetz, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1
13Your devarim have been harsh against Me, 1 saith Hashem. Yet ye say: 1 What have we spoken so much against Thee? 1
14Ye have said: Avod Elohim is vain; 1 and what profit is it that we have been shomer over His mishmeret, 1 and that we have walked as mourners 1 before Hashem Tzva'os? 1
15And now we call the zedim (proud) happy; 1 yea, they that work rishah (wickedness) are set up; 1 yea, they that tempt Elohim even go free. 1
16Then they that feared Hashem 1 spoke often one to another; 1 and Hashem paid heed, and heard it, 1 and a Sefer Zikaron (book of remembrance) was written before Him 1 for them that feared Hashem, 1 and that meditated upon Shmo (His Name). 1
17And they shall be Mine, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os, 1 in that Yom when I make up My segullah (special treasure, possession); 1 and I will spare them, 1 as a man spareth his own ben haoved oto (son that serveth him). 1
18Then shall ye return, 1 and discern between the tzaddik and the rasha, 1 between oved Elohim (him that serveth G-d) 1 and him that serveth Him not. 1
19For, hinei, HaYom bah (the day cometh), 1 that shall burn as an oven; 1 and kol zedim (all the proud), yea, and all that do wickedly, 1 shall be stubble; 1 and HaYom that cometh shall burn them up, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os, 1 that it shall leave them 1 neither shoresh (root) nor anaf (branch). 1
20But unto you that fear My name 1 shall the Shemesh Tzedakah (sun of righteousness) arise 1 with healing in his wings; 1 and ye shall go forth, 1 and grow up as calves of the stall. 1
21And ye shall trample down the resha'im; 1 for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet 1 in HaYom that I shall do this, 1 saith Hashem Tzva'os. 1
22Remember ye the Torat Moshe Avdi, 1 which I commanded unto him in Chorev for kol Yisroel, 1 with the chukkim (statutes) and mishpatim (judgments). 1
23Hinei, 1 I will send you Eliyahu HaNavi 1 before the coming of 1 the great and dreadful Yom Hashem; 1
24And he shall turn the lev-avot to the banim, 1 and the lev-banim to their avot, 1 lest I come and strike the earth with cherem.
