Job 17
“ My 2 My days are extinct 2 and the grave is ready for me. 1
Surely 2 My eye dwells on their provocation. 1
“ Now 2 Who is there who will strike hands with me? 1
For 2 therefore you will not exalt them. 1
He 2 even the eyes of his children will fail. 1
“ But 2 They spit in my face. 1
My 2 All my members are as a shadow. 1
Upright 2 The innocent will stir himself up against the godless. 1
Yet 2 He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger. 1
But 2 I will not find a wise man among you. 1
My 2 My plans are broken off, 2 as are the thoughts of my heart. 1
They 2 saying ‘ The light is near’ in the presence of darkness. 1
If I 2 if I have spread my couch in the darkness, 1
if I 2 and to the worm, ‘ My mother,’ and ‘ My sister,’ 1
where then is 2 As for my hope, who will see it? 1
Shall 2 or descend together into the dust?”
