2The 1 “ Behold, waters rise up out of the north, 2 and will become an overflowing stream, 1 and will overflow the land and all that is therein, 2 the city and those who dwell therein. 1 The men will cry, 2 and all the inhabitants of the land will wail. 1

3At 2 at the rushing of his chariots, 2 at the rumbling of his wheels, 1 the fathers don’t look back for their children 2 because their hands are so feeble, 1

4because 2 to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; 1 for the LORD will destroy the Philistines, 2 the remnant of the isle of Caphtor. 1

5Baldness 2 Ashkelon is brought to nothing. 1 You remnant of their valley, 2 how long will you cut yourself? 1

6“‘ You 2 Put yourself back into your scabbard; 2 rest, and be still.’ 1

7“How can you 2 since the LORD has given you a command? 1 Against Ashkelon, and against the seashore, 2 there he has appointed it.”
