Psalms 40
1I waited patiently for 2 He turned to me, and heard my cry. 1
2He 2 out of the miry clay. 1 He set my feet on a rock, 2 and gave me a firm place to stand. 1
3He 2 Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 1
4Blessed is 2 and doesn’t respect the proud, nor such as turn away to lies. 1
5Many 2 and your thoughts which are toward us. 1 They can’t be declared back to you. 2 If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted. 1
6Sacrifice 2 You have opened my ears. 2 You have not required burnt offering and sin offering. 1
7Then 2 It is written about me in the book in the scroll. 1
8I 2 Yes, your law is within my heart.” 1
9I 2 Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know. 1
10I 2 I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. 2 I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly. 1
11Don’t withhold your 2 Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me. 1
12For 2 My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. 1 They are more than the hairs of my head. 2 My heart has failed me. 1
13Be 2 Hurry to help me, LORD. 1
14Let them 2 Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt. 1
15Let 1
16Let all 2 Let such as love your salvation say continually, “Let the LORD be exalted!” 1
17But 2 May the Lord think about me. 1 You are my help and my deliverer. 2 Don’t delay, my God.
