Jeremiah 30

The Davar that came to Yirmeyah from Hashem, saying,

Thus speaketh Hashem Elohei Yisroel, saying, Write thee all the Devarim that I have spoken unto thee in a sefer.

For, hinei, the days are coming, saith Hashem, that I will bring back from captivity My people Yisroel and Yehudah, saith Hashem; and I will cause them to return to ha'aretz that I gave to their avot, and they shall possess it.

And these are the Devarim that Hashem spoke concerning Yisroel and concerning Yehudah. 1

For thus saith Hashem: 1 We have heard a cry of fear, 1 of pachad (terror), and not of shalom. 1

Ask ye now, and see 1 whether a zachar (male) doth travail with child? 1 Why do I see every gever 1 with his hands on his stomach, 1 like a woman in labor, 1 and all faces are turned deadly pale? 1

Alas! For gadol hayom, 1 so that none is like it; 1 it is even the Et (Time) of Tzarah l'Ya'akov (Jacobʼs Trouble), 1 but he shall be saved out of it.

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith Hashem Tzva'os, that I will break his yoke from off thy tzavar (neck), and will burst thy bonds, and zarim (foreigners) shall no more make a slave of him;

But they shall serve Hashem Eloheihem, and Dovid their Melech, + 30:9 i.e. Moshiach whom I will raise up for them. 1

Therefore, fear thou not, O Avdi Ya'akov, saith Hashem; 1 neither be dismayed, O Yisroel; 1 for, hineni, I will save thee from afar, 1 and thy zera from the eretz of their captivity; 1 and Ya'akov shall return, and shall be at rest, and be secure, 1 and none shall make him afraid. 1

For I am with thee, saith Hashem, to save thee; 1 though I make a full end of all Goyim 1 where I have scattered thee, 1 yet I will not make a full end of thee; 1 but I will correct thee in mishpat, 1 and will not leave thee altogether unpunished. 1

For thus saith Hashem: 1 Thy bruise is incurable, and thy makkah (blow, wound) is grievous. 1

There is none to uphold thy cause, 1 no refu'ot for your wound, no healing for you. 1

All thy lovers have forgotten thee; 1 they seek thee not; 1 for I have wounded thee with the makkat oyev, 1 with the musar (chastisement) of a cruel one, 1 for the multitude of thine avon, because thy sins were increased. 1

Why dost thou cry out over thine affliction? 1 Thy pain is incurable for the multitude of thine avon; 1 because thy chattot were increased, 1 I have done these things unto thee. 1

Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; 1 and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; 1 and they that plunder thee shall become plunder, 1 and all that prey upon thee will I give for prey. 1

For I will restore health unto thee, 1 and I will heal thee of thy makkot (wounds), saith Hashem; 1 because they called thee a Nidachah (Outcast), saying: 1 This is Tziyon, whom no one careth for. 1

Thus saith Hashem: 1 Hineni, I will bring back the captivity of Ya'akovʼs ohalim, 1 and have compassion on his dwelling places; 1 and the Ir shall be rebuilt upon her own ruins, 1 and the armon (citadel) shall stand on its rightful site. 1

And out of them shall proceed todah (thanksgiving) 1 and the voice of them that rejoice; 1 and I will multiply them, 1 and they shall not be few; 1 I will also honor them, 1 and they shall not be disdained. 1

Their banim also shall be as formerly, 1 and their Edah (Congregation) shall be established before Me, 1 and I will punish all that oppress them. 1

And their Adir (Prince, Leader) shall be one of their own, 1 and their Moshel (ruler) shall proceed from the midst of them; 1 and I will cause him to draw near, 1 and he shall approach unto Me; 1 for who is this that devoted his lev to approach unto Me? saith Hashem. 1

And ye shall be My people, 1 and I will be your Elohim. 1

Hinei, the whirlwind of Hashem 1 goeth forth with chemah (wrath, fury), 1 a sweeping whirlwind; 1 it shall fall violently upon the rosh of the resha'im. 1

The Charon Af Hashem shall not return, 1 until He hath accomplished it, 1 and until He have performed 1 the mezimmot (intents, purposes) of His lev; 1 in the acharit hayamim (latter days) ye shall understand this. 1

At the same time, saith Hashem, 1 I will be Elohim l'khol mishpekhot Yisroel, 1 and they shall be My people.
