Psalms 49
1Hear this 2 Listen, all you inhabitants of the world, 2
2both 2 rich and poor together. 1
3My 2 My heart will utter understanding. 1
4I 2 I will solve my riddle on the harp. 1
5Why should I fear in 2 when iniquity at my heels surrounds me? 1
6Those 2 and boast in the multitude of their riches— 2
7none of 2 nor give God a ransom for him. 1
8For 2 no payment is ever enough, 2
9that 2 that he should not see corruption. 1
10For 2 likewise the fool and the senseless perish, 2 and leave their wealth to others. 1
11Their 2 and their dwelling places to all generations. 2 They name their lands after themselves. 1
12But 2 He is like the animals that perish. 1
13This 2 and of those who approve their sayings. Selah. 1
14They 2 Death shall be their shepherd. 1 The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. 2 Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, + 49:14 Sheol is the place of the dead. 2 far from their mansion. 1
15But God will 2 for he will receive me. Selah. 1
16Don’t be 2 when the glory of his house is increased; 1
17for 2 His glory won’t descend after him. 1
18Though 2 and men praise you when you do well for yourself— 2
19he 2 They shall never see the light. 1
20A 2 is like the animals that perish.
