Isaiah 54
1“ Sing 2 Break out into singing, and cry aloud, you who didn’t travail with child! 2 For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says the LORD. 1
2“ Enlarge 2 and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations; 2 don’t spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. 1
3For 2 and your offspring will possess the nations 2 and settle in desolate cities. 1
4“Don’t be 2 Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed. 1 For you will forget the shame of your youth. 2 You will remember the reproach of your widowhood no more. 1
5For 2 The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. 2 He will be called the God of the whole earth. 1
6For 2 even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God. 1
7“ For 2 but I will gather you with great mercies. 1
8In 2 but with everlasting loving kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer. 1
9“ For 2 for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more go over the earth, 2 so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. 1
10For 2 and the hills be removed, 1 but my loving kindness will not depart from you, 2 and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” 2 says the LORD who has mercy on you. 1
11“ You 2 behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, 2 and lay your foundations with sapphires. 1
12I 2 your gates of sparkling jewels, 2 and all your walls of precious stones. 1
13All 2 and your children’s peace will be great. 1
14You 2 You will be far from oppression, 2 for you will not be afraid, 2 and far from terror, 2 for it shall not come near you. 1
15Behold 2 Whoever gathers together against you will fall because of you. 1
16“ Behold 2 and forges a weapon for his work; 2 and I have created the destroyer to destroy. 1
17No 2 and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. 1 This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants, 2 and their righteousness is of me,” says the LORD.
