“ Moreover 1 “‘ Do men fall, and not rise up again? 2 Does one turn away, and not return? 1
Why 2 They cling to deceit. 2 They refuse to return. 1
I 2 No one repents of his wickedness, saying, “ What have I done?” 1 Everyone turns to his course, 2 as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle. 1
Yes 2 The turtledove, the swallow, and the crane observe the time of their coming; 2 but my people don’t know the LORD’s law. 1
“‘ How 2 But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made that a lie. 1
The 2 They are dismayed and trapped. 1 Behold, they have rejected the LORD’s word. 2 What kind of wisdom is in them? 1
Therefore 2 and their fields to those who will possess them. 1 For everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; 2 from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely. 1
They 2 “ Peace, peace,” when there is no peace. 1
Were 2 No, they were not at all ashamed. 2 They couldn’t blush. 1 Therefore they will fall among those who fall. 2 In the time of their visitation they will be cast down, says the LORD. 1
“‘ I 2 No grapes will be on the vine, 2 no figs on the fig tree, 2 and the leaf will fade. 1 The things that I have given them 2 will pass away from them.’” 1
“ Why 2 Assemble yourselves! 2 Let’s enter into the fortified cities, 2 and let’s be silent there; 1 for the LORD our God has put us to silence, 2 and given us poisoned water to drink, 2 because we have sinned against the LORD. 1
We 2 and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay! 1
The 2 The whole land trembles at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; 1 for they have come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it, 2 the city and those who dwell therein.” 1
“ For 2 adders among you, 2 which will not be charmed; 2 and they will bite you,” says the LORD. 1
Oh that 2 My heart is faint within me. 1
Behold 2 “Isn’t the LORD in Zion? 2 Isn’t her King in her?” 1 “ Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, 2 and with foreign idols?” 1
“ The 2 The summer has ended, 2 and we are not saved.” 1
For 2 I mourn. 2 Dismay has taken hold of me. 1
Is 2 Is there no physician there? 1 Why then isn’t the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
