Hosea · KJV Cambridge Paragraph

Hosea 5

Hear ye this, O priests; 1 And hearken, ye house of Israel; 1 And give ye ear, O house of the king; 1 For judgment is toward you, 1 Because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, 1 And a net spread upon Tabor. 1

And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, 1 Though I have been a rebuker of them all. 1

I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: 1 For now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled. 1

They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: 1 For the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, 1 And they have not known the Lord. 1

And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: 1 Therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; 1 Judah also shall fall with them. 1

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord; 1 But they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them. 1

They have dealt treacherously against the Lord: 1 For they have begotten strange children: 1 Now shall a month devour them with their portions. 1

Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, 1 And the trumpet in Ramah: 1 Cry aloud at Beth-aven, 1 After thee, O Benjamin. 1

Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: 1 Among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be. 1

The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: 1 Therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water. 1

Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, 1 Because he willingly walked after the commandment. 1

Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, 1 And to the house of Judah as rottenness. 1

When Ephraim saw his sickness, 1 And Judah saw his wound, 1 Then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, 1 And sent to king Jareb: 1 Yet could he not heal you, 1 Nor cure you of your wound. 1

For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, 1 And as a young lion to the house of Judah: 1 I, even I, will tear and go away; 1 I will take away, and none shall rescue him. 1

I will go and return to my place, 1 Till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: 1 In their affliction they will seek me early.
