Micah 3
And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, 1 And ye princes of the house of Israel; 1 Is it not for you to know judgment? 1
Who hate the good, and love the evil; 1 Who pluck off their skin from off them, 1 And their flesh from off their bones; 1
Who also eat the flesh of my people, 1 And flay their skin from off them; 1 And they break their bones, 1 And chop them in pieces, as for the pot, 1 And as flesh within the caldron. 1
Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: 1 He will even hide his face from them at that time, 1 As they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. 1
Thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that make my people err, 1 That bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; 1 And he that putteth not into their mouths, 1 They even prepare war against him. 1
Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; 1 And it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; 1 And the sun shall go down over the prophets, 1 And the day shall be dark over them. 1
Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: 1 Yea, they shall all cover their lips; 1 For there is no answer of God. 1
But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, 1 And of judgment, and of might, 1 To declare unto Jacob his transgression, 1 And to Israel his sin. 1
Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, 1 And princes of the house of Israel, 1 That abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 1
They build up Zion with blood, 1 And Jerusalem with iniquity. 1
The heads thereof judge for reward, 1 And the priests thereof teach for hire, 1 And the prophets thereof divine for money: 1 Yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, 1 Is not the Lord among us? 1 None evil can come upon us. 1
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, 1 And Jerusalem shall become heaps, 1 And the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
