Micah 7
Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, 1 As the grapegleanings of the vintage: 1 There is no cluster to eat: 1 My soul desired the firstripe fruit. 1
The good man is perished out of the earth: 1 And there is none upright among men: 1 They all lie in wait for blood; 1 They hunt every man his brother with a net. 1
That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, 1 The prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; 1 And the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: 1 So they wrap it up. 1
The best of them is as a brier: 1 The most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: 1 The day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; 1 Now shall be their perplexity. 1
Trust ye not in a friend, 1 Put ye not confidence in a guide: 1 Keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 1
For the son dishonoureth the father, 1 The daughter riseth up against her mother, 1 The daughter in law against her mother in law; 1 A man’s enemies are the men of his own house. 1
Therefore I will look unto the Lord; 1 I will wait for the God of my salvation: 1 My God will hear me. 1
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: 1 When I fall, I shall arise; 1 When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. 1
I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, 1 Until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: 1 He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. 1
Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her 1 Which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? 1 Mine eyes shall behold her: 1 Now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. 1
In the day that thy walls are to be built, 1 In that day shall the decree be far removed. 1
In that day also he shall come even to thee 1 From Assyria, and from the fortified cities, 1 And from the fortress even to the river, 1 And from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. 1
Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, 1 For the fruit of their doings. 1
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, 1 Which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: 1 Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. 1
According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt 1 Will I shew unto him marvellous things. 1
The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: 1 They shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. 1
They shall lick the dust like a serpent, 1 They shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: 1 They shall be afraid of the Lord our God, 1 And shall fear because of thee. 1
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, 1 And passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? 1 He retaineth not his anger for ever, 1 Because he delighteth in mercy. 1
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; 1 He will subdue our iniquities; 1 And thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 1
Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, 1 Which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
