Psalms 79
1God, the 2 They have defiled your holy temple. 2 They have laid Jerusalem in heaps. 1
2They 2 the flesh of your holy ones to the animals of the earth. 1
3They 2 There was no one to bury them. 1
4We have 2 a scoffing and derision to those who are around us. 1
5How 2 Will you be angry forever? 2 Will your jealousy burn like fire? 1
6Pour 2 on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name, 1
7for 2 and destroyed his homeland. 1
8Don’t hold 2 Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, 2 for we are in desperate need. 1
9Help 2 Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake. 1
10Why 2 Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, 2 that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out. 1
11Let 2 According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death. 1
12Pay 2 their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord. 1
13So 2 will give you thanks forever. 2 We will praise you forever, to all generations.
