Song of Solomon 2
I am the rose of Sharon, 1 And the lily of the valleys. 1
As the lily among thorns, 1 So is my love among the daughters. 1
As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, 1 So is my beloved among the sons. 1 I sat down under his shadow with great delight, 1 And his fruit was sweet to my taste. 1
He brought me to the banqueting house, 1 And his banner over me was love. 1
Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: 1 For I am sick of love. 1
His left hand is under my head, 1 And his right hand doth embrace me. 1
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, 1 By the roes, and by the hinds of the field, 1 That ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please. 1
The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh 1 Leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. 1
My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: 1 Behold, he standeth behind our wall, 1 He looketh forth at the windows, 1 Shewing himself through the lattice. 1
My beloved spake, and said unto me, 1 Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. 1
For lo, the winter is past, 1 The rain is over and gone; 1
The flowers appear on the earth; 1 The time of the singing of birds is come, 1 And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; 1
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, 1 And the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. 1 Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. 1
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, 1 Let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; 1 For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. 1
Take us the foxes, 1 The little foxes, that spoil the vines: 1 For our vines have tender grapes. 1
My beloved is mine, and I am his: 1 He feedeth among the lilies. 1
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, 1 Turn, my beloved, 1 And be thou like a roe or a young hart 1 Upon the mountains of Bether.
