Amos 2
1Thus saith Hashem: 1 For shloshah peysha'im of Moav, 1 even for arba'ah, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; 1 because he burned the bones 1 of Melech Edom into lime; 1
2But I will send an eish upon Moav, 1 and it shall devour the fortresses of Keriyot; 1 and Moav shall die with tumult, 1 with war cries, and with the blast of the shofar; 1
3And I will cut off the shofet (judge) from the midst thereof, 1 and will slay all the sarim (princes) thereof with him, 1 saith Hashem. 1
4Thus saith Hashem: 1 For shloshah peysha'im of Yehudah, 1 even for arba'ah, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; 1 because they have despised the torat Hashem, 1 and have not been shomer over His chukkim, 1 and their lies caused them to err, 1 after the halakhah of their avot; 1
5But I will send an eish upon Yehudah, 1 and it shall devour the fortresses of Yerushalayim. 1
6Thus saith Hashem: 1 For shloshah peysha'im of Yisroel, 1 even for arba'ah, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; 1 because they sold the tzaddik for kesef, 1 and the needy for a pair of sandals; 1
7They who trample on the dust of the ground which is on the rosh of the poor, 1 and turn aside the derech of the anavim; 1 and an ish and his av will go in unto the same na'arah, 1 to commit chillul Hashem against My Shem kodesh; 1
8And they lay themselves down 1 upon clothes taken in pledge by every mizbe'ach, 1 and they guzzle the yayin 1 of the fined in the Beis Eloheichem. 1
9Yet destroyed I HaEmori before them, 1 whose height was like the height of the cedars, 1 and he was strong as the oaks; 1 yet I destroyed his p'ri from above, 1 and his shorashim from beneath. 1
10Also I brought you up from Eretz Mitzrayim, 1 and led you arba'im shanah through the midbar, 1 to possess the Eretz HaEmori (land of the Amorite). 1
11And I raised up of your banim for nevi'im, 1 and of your bochurim for Nezirim. 1 Is it not even thus, O ye Bnei Yisroel? 1 saith Hashem. 1
12But ye gave the Nezirim yayin to drink; 1 and commanded the nevi'im, saying: 1 Prophesy not. 1
13Hinei, I am weighed down by you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves. 1
14Therefore flight shall perish from the swift, 1 and the chazak shall not strengthen his ko'ach, 1 neither shall the gibbor deliver his own nefesh; 1
15Neither shall he stand that handleth the keshet; 1 and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver his own nefesh; 1 neither shall he that rideth the sus deliver himself. 1
16And he that is courageous among the gibborim 1 shall flee away naked in that Yom, 1 saith Hashem.
