Amos 4
1Hear this word, ye cows of Bashan, 1 that are on Mt Shomron, which oppress the poor, 1 which crush the needy, which say to their adonim: 1 Bring, and let us drink. 1
2Adonoi Hashem hath sworn by His Kodesh that, 1 hinei, the yamim shall come upon you, 1 that He will take you away with hooks, 1 and the last of you with fishhooks. 1
3And ye shall go out of the breaks in the wall, 1 every cow right behind the next; 1 and ye shall be cast out toward Harmon, saith Hashem. 1
4Come to Beit-El, and transgress; 1 at Gilgal multiply peysha'im; 1 and bring your zevakhim every boker, and your ma'asrot (tithes) every third day; 1
5And offer a todah thank offering with chametz (leavened bread), 1 and proclaim and publish the nedavot (freewill offerings); 1 for this ye love, O Bnei Yisroel, saith Adonoi Hashem. 1
6And I also have given you 1 cleanness of teeth + 4:6 i.e., famine in all your towns, 1 and want of lechem in all your places; 1 yet have ye not returned unto Me, saith Hashem. 1
7And also I have withheld the geshem from you, 1 when there were yet shloshah chodashim to the harvest; 1 and I caused it to rain upon one town, 1 and caused it not to rain upon another town; 1 one chelek (part) was rained upon, 1 and the chelek, whereupon it rained not, withered. 1
8So two or three towns wandered unto one town, 1 to drink mayim, but they were not satisfied; 1 yet have ye not returned unto Me, saith Hashem. 1
9I have struck you with blight and mildew; 1 when your ganim (gardens) and your kramim (vineyards) 1 and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, 1 the locust devoured them; 1 yet have ye not returned unto Me, saith Hashem. 1
10I have sent among you the dever after the manner of Mitzrayim; 1 your bocherim have I slain with the cherev, 1 and have taken away your susim; 1 and I have made the stench 1 of your machanot to come up unto your nostrils; 1 yet have ye not returned unto Me, saith Hashem. 1
11I have overthrown some of you, 1 as Elohim overthrew Sodom and Amora (Gomorrah), 1 and ye were like a firebrand snatched from the burning; 1 yet have ye not returned unto Me, saith Hashem. 1
12Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Yisroel; 1 and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet Eloheicha, O Yisroel. 1
13For, hinei, He that formeth the harim, and createth the ruach, 1 and declareth unto man what is his thought, 1 that maketh the shachar darkness, 1 and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, 1 Hashem Elohei Tzva'os Shmo.
