Amos 9
1I saw Adonoi standing by the mizbe'ach; and He said: 1 Strike the pillar capitals, + 9:1 of the heathen shrine that the thresholds may shake; 1 and smash them upon the heads of all; 1 and I will slay the last of them with the cherev; 1 he that fleeth of them shall not get away, 1 and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered. 1
2Though they dig down to Sheol, 1 thence shall Mine hand take them; 1 though they climb up to Shomayim, 1 thence will I bring them down; 1
3And though they hide themselves in the summit of Carmel, 1 I will search and take them out thence; 1 and though they be hid 1 from My sight in the bottom of the yam, 1 thence will I command the nachash, 1 and he shall bite them; 1
4And though they go into golus (exile) before their enemies, 1 thence will I command the cherev, and it shall slay them; 1 and I will set Mine eyes upon them 1 for rah, and not for tov. 1
5And Adonoi Hashem HaTzva'os 1 is He that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, 1 and all that dwell therein shall mourn; 1 and it shall rise up wholly like the Nile; 1 and sink like the Nile of Mitzrayim. 1
6It is He that buildeth his ma'alot (stairs) in Shomayim, 1 and hath founded His aguddah (fitted together vault) over Eretz; 1 He that calleth for the waters of the yam, 1 and poureth them out upon the face of ha'aretz; 1 Hashem Shmo. 1
7Are ye not as children of Ethiopia unto Me, 1 O Bnai Yisroel? saith Hashem. 1 Have not I brought up Yisroel out of Eretz Mitzrayim? 1 And the Pelishtim (Philistines) from Caphtor, 1 and Aram from Kir? 1
8Hinei, the eyes of Adonoi Hashem 1 are upon the mamlachah hachatta'ah, 1 and I will destroy it from off the face of ha'aretz; 1 nevertheless I will not utterly destroy Bais Ya'akov, saith Hashem. 1
9For, hinei, I will command, and I will sift 1 Bais Yisroel among all Goyim, 1 like as grain is sifted in a sieve, 1 yet shall not the least grain fall upon ha'aretz. 1
10All the chatta'ei ami (sinners of My people) shall die by the cherev, 1 which say: The ra'ah shall not overtake nor come to us. 1
11In that Yom will I raise up 1 the Sukkat Dovid that is fallen, 1 and close up the breaches thereof; 1 and I will raise up his ruins, 1 and I will build it as in the yamei olam; 1
12that they may possess the she'erit Edom and all the Goyim, 1 which are called by Shmi, saith Hashem, that doeth this. 1
13Hinei, the yamim are coming, saith Hashem, 1 that the plowman shall overtake the kotzer (reaper), 1 and the treader of grapes him that soweth zera; 1 and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, 1 and all the hills shall flow with it. 1
14And I will bring back the captives of My people Yisroel, 1 and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; 1 and they shall plant kramim (vineyards), and drink the yayin thereof; 1 they shall also make gannot, and eat the p'ri of them. 1
15And I will plant them upon their land, 1 and they shall no more be torn up 1 out of their land which I have given them, saith Hashem Eloheicha.
