Micah 5
1But thou, Beit-Lechem Ephratah, 1 though thou be little among the Alphei Yehudah (Thousands of Yehudah), 1 yet out of thee shall He + 5:1 Moshiach come forth unto Me + 5:1 Hashem 1 that is to be Moshel Yisroel; 1 whose goings forth + 5:1 (i.e. origins) have been mikedem (from everlasting), + 5:1 See Hab 1:12 1 mimei olam (from the days of eternity). 1
2Therefore will He give them up, 1 until the Et Yoledah (time when she who is in labor) hath brought forth; 1 then the rest of His + 5:2 Moshiachʼs Brethren 1 shall return unto Bnei Yisroel. 1
3And He + 5:3 Moshiach shall stand and shall shepherd in the strength of Hashem, 1 in the majesty of the Shem of Hashem Elohav, 1 and they + 5:3 Bnei Yisroel shall live; 1 for then shall He + 5:3 Moshiach be great unto the ends of ha'aretz. 1
4And this shall be Shalom. 1 When the Assyrian shall invade our land; 1 and when he shall set foot on our armenot (citadels), 1 then shall we raise against him shivah ro'im (seven shepherds), 1 and shmoneh nesikhei adam (eight leaders [tribal princes] of men). 1
5And they shall shepherd Eretz Ashur (Assyria) with the cherev, 1 and Eretz Nimrod at its gates; 1 thus shall He + 5:5 Moshiach deliver us from the Assyrian, 1 when he cometh into our land, 1 and when he sets foot within our borders. 1
6And the She'erit Ya'akov shall be in the midst of many people 1 like tal (dew) from Hashem, like the showers upon the grass, 1 that doth not await manʼs bidding, 1 nor tarry for the bnei adam. 1
7And the She'erit Ya'akov shall be among the Goyim 1 in the midst of many people 1 like an aryeh among the beasts of the forest, 1 like a young lion among the edrei tzon (flocks of sheep); 1 who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, 1 and none can deliver. 1
8Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, 1 and kol oyvecha (all thine enemies) shall be cut off. 1
9And it shall come to pass in Yom HaHu, saith Hashem, 1 that I will cut off thy susim out of the midst of thee, 1 and I will destroy thy merkavot (chariots); 1
10And I will cut off the cities of thy land, 1 and throw down all thy mivtzarim (fortresses); 1
11And I will cut off keshafim (witchcrafts) out of thine hand; n tsvishen dir, 1 un vest zich mer nisht b 1 and thou shalt have no more sorcerers; 1
12Thy graven images also will I cut off, 1 and thy sacred pillars out of the midst of thee; 1 and lo tishtachaveh (thou shalt no more bow down to, worship) the work of thine hands. 1
13And I will pluck up thy Asherim + 5:13 i.e., sacred poles of the Asherah cult of Canaan out of the midst of thee; 1 so will I destroy thy cities. 1
14And I will execute vengeance 1 in anger and fury 1 upon the Goyim that were without mishma'at (obedience).
