Isaiah 47
“ Come 2 Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Kasdim. 2 For you will no longer be called tender and delicate. 1
Take 2 Remove your veil, lift up your skirt, uncover your legs, 2 and wade through the rivers. 1
Your 2 Yes, your shame will be seen. 1 I will take vengeance, 2 and will spare no one.” 1
Our 2 is the Holy One of Israel. 1
“ Sit 2 daughter of the Kasdim. 1 For you shall no longer be called 2 the mistress of kingdoms. 1
I 2 I profaned my inheritance 2 and gave them into your hand. 1 You showed them no mercy. 2 You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged. 1
You 2 so that you didn’t lay these things to your heart, 2 nor did you remember the results. 1
“ Now 2 who sit securely, 1 who say in your heart, 2 ‘ I am, and there is no one else besides me. 1 I won’t sit as a widow, 2 neither will I know the loss of children.’ 1
But 2 the loss of children and widowhood. 1 They will come on you in their full measure, 2 in the multitude of your sorceries, 2 and the great abundance of your enchantments. 1
For 2 You have said, ‘ No one sees me.’ 1 Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you. 2 You have said in your heart, ‘ I am, and there is no one else besides me.’ 1
Therefore 2 You won’t know when it dawns. 1 Mischief will fall on you. 2 You won’t be able to put it away. 1 Desolation will come on you suddenly, 2 which you don’t understand. 1
“ Stand 2 and with the multitude of your sorceries, 2 in which you have labored from your youth, 1 as if you might profit, 2 as if you might prevail. 1
You 2 Now let the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from the things that will happen to you. 1
Behold 2 The fire will burn them. 2 They won’t deliver themselves from the power of the flame. 1 It won’t be a coal to warm at 2 or a fire to sit by. 1
The 2 those who have trafficked with you from your youth will each wander in his own way. 2 There will be no one to save you.
