Psalms 138

1I 2 Before the gods, + 138:1 The word elohim, used here, usually means “God” but can also mean “gods”, “princes”, or “angels”. I will sing praises to you. 1

2I 2 and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; 2 for you have exalted your Name and your Word above all. 1

3In 2 You encouraged me with strength in my soul. 1

4All 2 for they have heard the words of your mouth. 1

5Yes 2 for Yahweh’s glory is great! 1

6For 2 but he knows the proud from afar. 1

7Though I 2 You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. 2 Your right hand will save me. 1

8Yahweh 2 Your loving kindness, Yahweh, endures forever. 2 Don’t forsake the works of your own hands.
