Psalms 39
I said, “I will watch my 2 I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.” 1
I 2 I held my peace, even from good. 2 My sorrow was stirred. 1
My heart was 2 While I meditated, the fire burned. 1 I spoke with my tongue: 2
“ Yahweh 2 what is the measure of my days. 2 Let me know how frail I am. 1
Behold, you 2 My lifetime is as nothing before you. 1 Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah. 1
“ Surely 2 Surely they busy themselves in vain. 2 He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather. 1
Now 2 My hope is in you. 1
Deliver me 2 Don’t make me the reproach of the foolish. 1
I 2 I didn’t open my mouth, 2 because you did it. 1
Remove 2 I am overcome by the blow of your hand. 1
When 2 you consume his wealth like a moth. 1 Surely every man is but a breath.” Selah. 1
“Hear my 2 Don’t be silent at my tears. 1 For I am a stranger with you, 2 a foreigner, as all my fathers were. 1
Oh spare me 2 before I go away and exist no more.”
