Hosea 11
1When Yisroel was a na'ar (child), I loved him, 1 and called Beni (My son) out of Mitzrayim. + 11:1 Mt 2:15 1
2The more I called them, 1 the more they went from Me; 1 they sacrificed unto Ba'alim, 1 and burned incense to peselim (graven images). 1
3Yet it was I who taught Ephrayim to walk, 1 taking them by their zero'ot; 1 but they knew not 1 that it was I who healed them. 1
4I drew them with cords of man, 1 with bands of ahavah; 1 and I was to them 1 as they that ease the ol (yoke) on their jaws, 1 and I bent down to feed them. 1
5Will they not return into Eretz Mitzrayim? 1 And will not the Assyrian be his melech, 1 because they refused to make teshuvah. 1
6And the cherev shall flash in his towns, 1 and shall destroy his gate bars, and devour them, 1 because of their own counsels. 1
7And Ami are bent to backsliding from Me; 1 though they called to the Most High, 1 none at all would exalt Him. 1
8How shall I give thee up, Ephrayim? 1 How shall I hand thee over, Yisroel? 1 How shall I make thee as Admah? 1 How shall I make thee as Tzevoyim? 1 Mine lev is turned within Me, 1 My relentings are kindled together. 1
9I will not execute Mine charon af, 1 I will not return to destroy Ephrayim; 1 for El ani, and not ish; 1 the Kadosh (Holy One) in the midst of thee; 1 and I will not come in wrath. 1
10They shall walk after Hashem; 1 He shall roar like an aryeh; 1 when He shall roar, 1 then the banim shall come trembling from the west. 1
11They shall come trembling as a bird out of Mitzrayim, 1 and as a yonah out of Eretz Assyria; 1 and I will place them in their batim (houses), saith Hashem.
