Hosea 9
Rejoice not, O Yisroel, 1 for joy, as other people; 1 for thou hast gone a-whoring from thy G-d, 1 thou hast loved for hire upon every threshing floor. 1
The floor and the wine-press shall not feed them, 1 and the tirosh shall fail in her. 1
They shall not dwell in Hashemʼs land; 1 but Ephrayim shall return to Mitzrayim, 1 and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria. 1
They shall not offer yayin offerings to Hashem, 1 neither shall they be pleasing unto Him; 1 their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; 1 all that eat thereof shall be polluted; 1 for their bread shall be for their own nefesh 1 and shall not come into the Beis Hashem. 1
What will ye do in the Yom Mo'ed, 1 and in the Yom Chag Hashem? 1
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction; 1 Mitzrayim shall gather them up, 1 Memphis shall bury them; 1 nettles shall possess their valuables of kesef; 1 thorns shall be in their tents. 1
The days of pekudah (visitation for divine punishment) are come, 1 the yamim of recompence are come; 1 Yisroel shall know it. 1 The navi is a fool, 1 the ish haruach (spiritual man) is meshuga, 1 for the multitude of thine iniquity 1 and great hatred. 1
The watchman of Ephrayim was with my G-d; 1 but the navi is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, 1 and hatred in the bais of his G-d. 1
They have deeply corrupted themselves, 1 as in the yamim of Giv'ah; 1 therefore He will remember their iniquity, 1 He will visit their sins. 1
I found Yisroel like grapes in the midbar; 1 I saw your avot as the bikkurah 1 in the fig tree at her first season; 1 but they went to Ba'al-Pe'or, 1 and separated themselves unto that shame; 1 and their abominations were according as they loved. 1
As for Ephrayim, their kavod shall fly away like a bird, 1 from the birth, and from the beten (womb), and from the conception. 1
Though they bring up their banim, 1 yet will I bereave them, 1 that there shall not be a man left: 1 yea, woe also to them when I depart from them! 1
Ephrayim, as I saw Tzor, 1 is planted in a pleasant place; 1 but Ephrayim shall bring forth 1 his banim to the murderer. 1
Give them, O Hashem. What wilt Thou give? 1 Give them a miscarrying rechem (womb) and dry breasts. 1
All their wickedness is in Gilgal; 1 for there I hated them; 1 for the wickedness of their doings 1 I will drive them out of Mine bais, 1 I will love them no more; 1 all their sarim (princes) are sorerim (rebels). 1
Ephrayim is struck, 1 their shoresh (root) is dried up, 1 they shall bear no fruit; 1 yea, though they bring forth, 1 yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their beten (womb). 1
My G-d will cast them away, 1 because they did not pay heed unto Him; 1 and they shall be nodedim (wanderers) among the Goyim.
