2And 1

3Let the 1 And the night which said, There is a man-child conceived. 1

4Let 1 Let not God from above seek for it, 1 Neither let the light shine upon it. 1

5Let 1 Let a cloud dwell upon it; 1 Let all that maketh black the day terrify it. 1

6As 1 Let it not rejoice among the days of the year; 1 Let it not come into the number of the months. 1

7Lo 1 Let no joyful voice come therein. 1

8Let them 1 Who are ready to rouse up leviathan. 1

9Let 1 Let it look for light, but have none; 1 Neither let it behold the eyelids of the morning: 1

10Because 1 Nor hid trouble from mine eyes. 1

11Why 1 Why did I not give up the ghost when my mother bare me? 1

12Why 1 Or why the breasts, that I should suck? 1

13For 1 I should have slept; then had I been at rest, 1

14With 1 Who built up waste places for themselves; 1

15Or 1 Who filled their houses with silver: 1

16Or 1 As infants that never saw light. 1

17There 1 And there the weary are at rest. 1

18There the 1 They hear not the voice of the taskmaster. 1

19The 1 And the servant is free from his master. 1

20Wherefore 1 And life unto the bitter in soul; 1

21Who long 1 And dig for it more than for hidden treasures; 1

22Who 1 And are glad, when they can find the grave? 1

23Why is light given to 1 And whom God hath hedged in? 1

24For 1 And my groanings are poured out like water. 1

25For 1 And that which I am afraid of cometh unto me. 1

26I 1 But trouble cometh.
