Job 9
Then 1
Of 1 But how can man be just with God? 1
If he 1 He cannot answer him one of a thousand. 1
He is wise 1 Who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?— 1
Him that 1 When he overturneth them in his anger; 1
That 1 And the pillars thereof tremble; 1
That 1 And sealeth up the stars; 1
That 1 And treadeth upon the waves of the sea; 1
That 1 And the chambers of the south; 1
That 1 Yea, marvelous things without number. 1
Lo 1 He passeth on also, but I perceive him not. 1
Behold 1 Who will say unto him, What doest thou? 2
God 1 The helpers of Rahab do stoop under him. 1
How 1 And choose out my words to reason with him? 1
Whom, though I 1 I would make supplication to my judge. 1
If 1 Yet would I not believe that he hearkened unto my voice. 1
For 1 And multiplieth my wounds without cause. 1
He 1 But filleth me with bitterness. 1
If 1 And if of justice, Who, saith he, will summon me? 1
Though I be 1 Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse. 1
I 1 I despise my life. 1
It 1 He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked. 1
If the 1 He will mock at the trial of the innocent. 1
The 1 He covereth the faces of the judges thereof: 1 If it be not he, who then is it? 2
Now 1 They flee away, they see no good. 1
They 1 As the eagle that swoopeth on the prey. 1
If I 1 I will put off my sad countenance, and be of good cheer; 1
I 1 I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent. 1
I 1 Why then do I labor in vain? 1
If I wash 1 And make my hands never so clean; 1
Yet wilt thou plunge 1 And mine own clothes shall abhor me. 1
For 1 That we should come together in judgment. 1
There 1 That might lay his hand upon us both. 1
Let him 1 And let not his terror make me afraid: 1
Then 1 For I am not so in myself.
