Psalms 44
We have 1 Our fathers have told us, 1 What work thou didst in their days, 1 In the days of old. 1
Thou 1 But them thou didst plant: 1 Thou didst afflict the peoples; 1 But them thou didst spread abroad. 1
For 1 Neither did their own arm save them; 1 But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, 1 Because thou wast favorable unto them. 1
Thou 1 Command deliverance for Jacob. 1
Through thee 1 Through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. 1
For 1 Neither shall my sword save me. 1
But 1 And hast put them to shame that hate us. 1
In 1 And we will give thanks unto thy name forever. Selah 1
But 1 And goest not forth with our hosts. 1
Thou makest us 1 And they that hate us take spoil for themselves. 1
Thou 1 And hast scattered us among the nations. 1
Thou 1 And hast not increased thy wealth by their price. 1
Thou makest us 1 A scoffing and a derision to them that are round about us. 1
Thou 1 A shaking of the head among the peoples. 1
All the 1 And the shame of my face hath covered me, 1
For 1 By reason of the enemy and the avenger. 1
All 1 Neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. 1
Our 1 Neither have our steps declined from thy way, 1
That 1 And covered us with the shadow of death. 1
If 1 Or spread forth our hands to a strange god; 1
Will 1 For he knoweth the secrets of the heart. 1
Yea 1 We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 1
Awake, why 1 Arise, cast us not off forever. 1
Wherefore 1 And forgettest our affliction and our oppression? 1
For 1 Our body cleaveth unto the earth. 1
Rise up for 1 And redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
