Psalms 49
1Hear this 1 Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world, 1
2Both 1 Rich and poor together. 1
3My 1 And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. 1
4I 1 I will open my dark saying upon the harp. 1
5Wherefore should I fear in 1 When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about? 1
6They 1 And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 1
7None of them can by 1 Nor give to God a ransom for him 1
8( For 1 And it faileth forever), 1
9That 1 That he should not see corruption. 1
10For 1 The fool and the brutish alike perish, 1 And leave their wealth to others. 1
11Their 1 And their dwelling places to all generations; 1 They call their lands after their own names. 1
12But 1 He is like the beasts that perish. 1
13This 1 Yet after them men approve their sayings. Selah 1
14They 1 Death shall be their shepherd: 1 And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; 1 And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, 1 That there be no habitation for it. 1
15But God will 1 For he will receive me. Selah 1
16Be 1 When the glory of his house is increased: 1
17For 1 His glory shall not descend after him. 1
18Though 1 ( And men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself), 1
19He 1 They shall never see the light. 1
20Man 1 Is like the beasts that perish.
