Proverbs 6
My son 1 If thou hast stricken thy hands for a stranger; 1
Thou art snared 1 Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. 1
Do 1 Seeing thou art come into the hand of thy neighbor: 1 Go, humble thyself, and importune thy neighbor; 1
Give 1 Nor slumber to thine eyelids; 1
Deliver 1 And as a bird from the hand of the fowler. 1
Go 1 Consider her ways, and be wise: 1
Which having no chief 1 Overseer, or ruler, 1
Provideth 1 And gathereth her food in the harvest. 1
How 1 When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? 1
Yet a 1 A little folding of the hands to sleep: 1
So 1 And thy want as an armed man. 1
A 1 Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth; 1
That 1 That maketh signs with his fingers; 1
In 1 Who deviseth evil continually, 1 Who soweth discord. 1
Therefore 1 On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy. 1
There 1 Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him: 1
Haughty 1 And hands that shed innocent blood; 1
A 1 Feet that are swift in running to mischief, 1
A 1 And he that soweth discord among brethren. 1
My 1 And forsake not the law of thy mother: 1
Bind 1 Tie them about thy neck. 1
When 1 When thou sleepest, it shall watch over thee; 1 And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. 1
For 1 And reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 1
To 1 From the flattery of the foreigner’s tongue. 1
Lust 1 Neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 1
For 1 And the adulteress hunteth for the precious life. 1
Can 1 And his clothes not be burned? 1
Or 1 And his feet not be scorched? 1
So 1 Whosoever toucheth her shall not be unpunished. 1
Men 1 To satisfy himself when he is hungry: 1
But 1 He shall give all the substance of his house. 1
He 1 He doeth it who would destroy his own soul. 1
Wounds 1 And his reproach shall not be wiped away. 1
For 1 And he will not spare in the day of vengeance. 1
He 1 Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
