Job · KJV Cambridge Paragraph

Job 12

And Job answered and said, 1

No doubt but ye are the people, 1 And wisdom shall die with you. 1

But I have understanding as well as you; 1 I am not inferior to you: 1 Yea, who knoweth not such things as these? 1

I am as one mocked of his neighbour, 1 Who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: 1 The just upright man is laughed to scorn. 1

He that is ready to slip with his feet 1 Is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease. 1

The tabernacles of robbers prosper, 1 And they that provoke God are secure; 1 Into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. 1

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; 1 And the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: 1

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: 1 And the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. 1

Who knoweth not in all these 1 That the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? 1

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, 1 And the breath of all mankind. 1

Doth not the ear try words? 1 And the mouth taste his meat? 1

With the ancient is wisdom; 1 And in length of days understanding. 1

With him is wisdom and strength, 1 He hath counsel and understanding. 1

Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: 1 He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. 1

Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: 1 Also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. 1

With him is strength and wisdom: 1 The deceived and the deceiver are his. 1

He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, 1 And maketh the judges fools. 1

He looseth the bond of kings, 1 And girdeth their loins with a girdle. 1

He leadeth princes away spoiled, 1 And overthroweth the mighty. 1

He removeth away the speech of the trusty, 1 And taketh away the understanding of the aged. 1

He poureth contempt upon princes, 1 And weakeneth the strength of the mighty. 1

He discovereth deep things out of darkness, 1 And bringeth out to light the shadow of death. 1

He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: 1 He enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. 1

He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, 1 And causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. 1

They grope in the dark without light, 1 And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
