Job 13
Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, 1 Mine ear hath heard and understood it. 1
What ye know, the same do I know also. 1 I am not inferior unto you. 1
Surely I would speak to the Almighty, 1 And I desire to reason with God. 1
But ye are forgers of lies, 1 Ye are all physicians of no value. 1
O that you would altogether hold your peace, 1 And it should be your wisdom. 1
Hear now my reasoning, 1 And hearken to the pleadings of my lips. 1
Will you speak wickedly for God? 1 And talk deceitfully for him? 1
Will ye accept his person? 1 Will ye contend for God? 1
Is it good that he should search you out? 1 Or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him? 1
He will surely reprove you, 1 If ye do secretly accept persons. 1
Shall not his excellency make you afraid? 1 And his dread fall upon you? 1
Your remembrances are like unto ashes, 1 Your bodies to bodies of clay. 1
Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, 1 And let come on me what will. 1
Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, 1 And put my life in mine hand? 1
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: 1 But I will maintain mine own ways before him. 1
He also shall be my salvation: 1 For a hypocrite shall not come before him. 1
Hear diligently my speech, 1 And my declaration with your ears. 1
Behold now, I have ordered my cause; 1 I know that I shall be justified. 1
Who is he that will plead with me? 1 For now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost. 1
Only do not two things unto me: 1 Then will I not hide myself from thee. 1
Withdraw thine hand far from me: 1 And let not thy dread make me afraid. 1
Then call thou, and I will answer: 1 Or let me speak, and answer thou me. 1
How many are mine iniquities and sins? 1 Make me to know my transgression and my sin. 1
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, 1 And holdest me for thine enemy? 1
Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? 1 And wilt thou pursue the dry stubble? 1
For thou writest bitter things against me, 1 And makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth. 1
Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, 1 And lookest narrowly unto all my paths; 1 Thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet. 1
And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, 1 As a garment that is moth-eaten.
