Job 20
1Then answered Tzophar the Na'amati, and said, 1
2Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, 1 and ba'avur (because of [this]) I make haste. 1
3I hear the musar that insults me, 1 and the ruach of my understanding causeth me to answer. 1
4Knowest thou not this of old, 1 since adam was placed upon earth, 1
5That the triumphing of the resha'im is short, 1 and the simchat chanef (joy of the hypocrite) but for a moment? 1
6Though his excellency mount up to Shomayim, 1 and his rosh reach unto the clouds; 1
7Yet he shall perish lanetzach (forever) like his own dung; 1 they which have seen him shall say, Where is he? 1
8He shall fly away as a chalom, and shall not be found; 1 yea, he shall be chased away as a chezyon lailah. 1
9The ayin also which saw him shall see him no more; 1 neither shall his makom any more behold him. 1
10His banim shall seek the favor of the poor, 1 and his hands shall restore their goods. 1
11His atzmot are full of youthful vigor, 1 which shall lie down with him in the aphar. 1
12Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, 1 though he hide it under his leshon; 1
13Though he savor it, and forsake it not, 1 but keep it still betoch (within) his mouth; 1
14Yet his lechem in his stomach is turned sour; 1 it is the venom of vipers within him. 1
15He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again; 1 El shall drive them out of his beten. 1
16He shall suck the venom of asps; 1 the viperʼs leshon shall slay him. 1
17He shall not see the rivers, 1 the floods, the brooks of devash and khemah (butter, curds). 1
18That which he labored for shall he give back, and shall not swallow it down; 1 he shall not rejoice according to his chayil temurah (business profit). 1
19Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the destitute; 1 because he hath violently seized a bais which he built not; 1
20Surely he knew no quiet in his beten; 1 he shall not save anything which he desired. 1
21There shall none of his ochel be left; 1 therefore his posterity will not endure. 1
22In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in distress; 1 kol yad of misery shall come upon him. 1
23When he is about to fill his beten, 1 He shall cast the charon af (fury of His wrath) upon him, 1 and shall rain it upon him while he is eating. 1
24He shall flee from the weapon of barzel (iron), 1 and the keshet of bronze shall strike him through. 1
25It is drawn, and cometh out of their body; 1 yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall; 1 emim (terrors [of death]) are upon them. 1
26Kol choshech is reserved for his treasures; 1 an eish not fanned shall consume him; 1 it shall go ill with him that is left in his ohel. 1
27Shomayim shall reveal his iniquity; 1 and eretz shall rise up against him. 1
28The increase of his bais shall depart, 1 and his goods shall flow away in [G-dʼs] Yom Af. 1
29This is the chelek of an adam rasha from Elohim, 1 and the nachalah decreed unto him by El (G-d).
