Job 41
See, every tokhelet (expectation) is false; 1 shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? 1
None is so foolhardy that dare stir him up. 1 Mi (who) then is able to stand before Me? 1
Mi (who) hath given Me, that I must repay him? 1 Whatsoever is under the kol HaShomayim is Mine. 1
I will not keep silent about his members, 1 nor his gevurah, nor the grace of his form. 1
Mi (who) can remove his outer garment? 1 Or mi (who) can come near him with a double bridle? 1
Mi (who) can open the doors of his face? 1 Terror is round about his teeth. 1
His scales are his ga'avah (pride), 1 shut up together as with a rigid chotam (seal). 1
One is so near to another, 1 that no ruach (air) can pass between them. 1
They are joined one to another; 1 they stick together, inseparably. 1
By his sneezings ohr flares out, 1 and his eyes are like the eyelids of the shachar. 1
Out of his mouth goeth flame, 1 and sparks of eish leap out. 1
Out of his nostrils goeth forth smoke, 1 like a seething pot or caldron. 1
His breath kindleth coals, 1 and a flame goeth out of his mouth. 1
In his neck resideth oz (strength), 1 and terror dances before him. 1
The flanks of his basar are joined together; 1 they are firm in themselves, immoveable. 1
His lev (chest) is as firm as an even (stone); 1 yea, as hard as the lower millstone. 1
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid; 1 shuddering they retreat. 1
The cherev of him that reacheth at him cannot hold 1 — the spear, the dart, nor the harpoon. 1
He esteemeth barzel (iron) like straw, 1 and nechoshet as rotten wood. 1
The arrow cannot make him flee; 1 sling stones are turned with him into stubble. 1
Clubs are counted as straw; 1 he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. 1
Sharp shards are his under parts; 1 he leaveth a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge. 1
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot; 1 he stirreth the yam like a pot of ointment. 1
He maketh a wake to shine after him; 1 one would think the deep to be white hair. 1
Upon earth there is not his equal, 1 who is created without fear. 1
He beholdeth all things lofty; 1 he is a melech over every proud beast.
