Job 6
1But Iyov answered and said, 1
2Oh that my ka'as (vexation) were throughly weighed, 1 and my calamity laid in the scales together! 1
3For now it would be heavier than the chol of the seas; 1 therefore my words are impetuous. 1
4For the khitzim (arrows) of Shaddai are in me, 1 the poison whereof drinketh my ruach; 1 the terrors of Eloah do set themselves in array against me. 1
5Doth the pereh (wild donkey) bray when he hath desheh? 1 Or loweth the ox over his fodder? 1
6Can that which is tasteless be eaten without melach? 1 Or is there any taste in the white of an egg? 1
7The things that my nefesh refused to touch 1 are like my loathsome lechem. 1
8Who will grant that I might have my she'elah (request); 1 oh that Eloah would grant me my tikveh! 1
9Even that it would please Eloah to crush me; 1 that He would let loose His yad, and cut me off! 1
10Then should I yet have nechamah (consolation); 1 yea, I would exult in chilah (pain); 1 let him not spare; 1 for I have not concealed 1 the imrei Kadosh (words of the Holy One). 1
11What is my koach, that I should wait? 1 And what is mine end, that I should make patient my nefesh? 1
12Is my koach the koach of avanim? 1 Or is my basar bronze? 1
13Is it that my help is not within me? 1 And is tushiyyah (success) driven from me? 1
14To him that is afflicted, chesed should be shown from his friend; 1 otherwise, he forsaketh the fear of Shaddai. 1
15Achai (my brethren) have dealt deceitfully as a wadi, 1 and as the torrents of wadis they vanish away; 1
16Which are blackish muddy by reason of the kerakh (ice), 1 and wherein the sheleg (snow) is melted. 1
17What season they become warm, they vanish; 1 when it is hot, they disappear from their makom. 1
18The paths of their derech wind about; 1 they go up to tohu, + 6:18 Gn 1:2 and perish. 1
19The caravans of Tema looked for them; 1 the halichot (traveling companies) of Sheva hoped for them. 1
20They were disappointed because of their bitachon; 1 they come there and are confounded. 1
21For now ye are become such; 1 ye see my chatat (casting down), and are afraid. 1
22Did I say, Bring unto me? 1 Or, Give a present for me of your ko'ach (power, wealth)? 1
23Or, Deliver me from the yad tzar (hand of the enemy, oppressor)? 1 Or, Redeem me with a ransom from the yad of the tyrants? 1
24Teach me, and I will hold my tongue, 1 and cause me to have binah wherein I have erred. 1
25How forcible are the imrei yosher (words of rectitude)! 1 But what doth your hokhiach (reproof) reprove? 1
26Do ye think to reprove words? 1 The words of one in despair, which are as ruach? 1
27Yea, ye cast lots for the yatom, 1 and over your friend ye barter. 1
28Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; 1 for it is evident unto you if in me there is kazav (falsity). 1
29Turn, now, let there be no iniquity; 1 yea, turn again; at issue is my tzedek (righteousness). 1
30Is there iniquity on my leshon? 1 Cannot my palate discern havvot (perverse things)?
