Job 22
1Then Eliphaz of Teman answered and said, 1
2Can a gever be profitable unto El, 1 as he that has seichel may be profitable unto himself? 1
3Is it any pleasure to Shaddai, that thou art tzaddik? 1 Or is it gain to Him, that thou makest thy ways blameless? 1
4Is it for thy yireh [Elohim] that He reproves thee? 1 Will He enter with thee into mishpat? 1
5Is not thy rah great? 1 And thine avonot infinite? 1
6For thou hast exacted a pledge from thy brother for naught, 1 and stripped the arummim (naked ones) of their clothing. 1
7Thou hast not given mayim to the weary to drink, 1 and thou hast withheld lechem from the hungry. 1
8But as for the ish zeroa (mighty man), his is ha'aretz; 1 and the honorable man dwelt therein. 1
9Thou hast sent almanot away empty, 1 and the arms of the yetomim have been broken. 1
10Therefore pachim (snares) are around thee, 1 and sudden pachad troubleth thee; 1
11Or choshech, that thou canst not see; 1 and overflow of mayim cover thee. 1
12Is not Eloah in the height of Shomayim? 1 And hinei the rosh kokhavim, how high they are! 1
13And thou sayest, How doth El know? 1 Can He judge through the thick cloud? 1
14Thick clouds veil Him, that He seeth not; 1 and He walketh in the vault of Shomayim. 1
15Wilt thou note the orach olam 1 which wicked men have trodden? 1
16Who were cut down before their time, 1 whose yesod was overflown with a flood; 1
17Who said unto El, Depart from us; 1 and what can Shaddai do to them? 1
18Yet He filled their batim (houses) with tov; 1 but the etza (counsel) of the resha'im is far from me. 1
19The tzaddikim see it, and are glad, 1 and the naki (innocent) laugh them to scorn. 1
20Verily our foe is destroyed, 1 and the abundance of them the eish consumeth. 1
21Acquaint now thyself with Him, and so hast thou shalom; 1 thereby tovah shall come unto thee. 1
22Receive, now, torah from His mouth, 1 and lay up His words in thine lev. 1
23If thou return to Shaddai, 1 thou shalt be restored; 1 if thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy ohalim; 1
24Then shalt thou lay up gold as aphar, 1 and that of Ophir as the tzur of the brooks. 1
25Yea, Shaddai shall be thy gold, 1 and thy precious kesef. 1
26For then shalt thou have thy delight in Shaddai, 1 and shalt lift up thy face unto Eloah. 1
27Thou shalt make thy prayer unto Him, and He shall hear thee, 1 and thou shalt fulfill thy nederim. 1
28Thou shalt also decide a matter, and it shall be established unto thee, 1 and the ohr shall shine upon thy ways. 1
29When they are cast down, thou shalt say: Arise, 1 and He shall save the one with low eynayim. + 22:29 i.e., humility 1
30He shall deliver even the guilty; 1 and he is delivered by the bar (cleanness) of thine hands.
