Isaiah 11

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, 1 And a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 1

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, 1 The spirit of wisdom and understanding, 1 The spirit of counsel and might, 1 The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; 1

And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: 1 And he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, 1 Neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 1

But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, 1 And reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: 1 And he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, 1 And with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 1

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, 1 And faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 1

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, 1 And the leopard shall lie down with the kid; 1 And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; 1 And a little child shall lead them. 1

And the cow and the bear shall feed; 1 Their young ones shall lie down together: 1 And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 1

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, 1 And the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. 1

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: 1 For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, 1 As the waters cover the sea. 1

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, 1 Which shall stand for an ensign of the people; 1 To it shall the Gentiles seek: 1 And his rest shall be glorious. 1

And it shall come to pass in that day, 1 That the Lord shall set his hand again the second time 1 To recover the remnant of his people, 1 Which shall be left from Assyria, 1 And from Egypt, and from Pathros, 1 And from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, 1 And from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 1

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, 1 And shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, 1 And gather together the dispersed of Judah 1 From the four corners of the earth. 1

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, 1 And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: 1 Ephraim shall not envy Judah, 1 And Judah shall not vex Ephraim. 1

But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; 1 They shall spoil them of the east together: 1 They shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; 1 And the children of Ammon shall obey them. 1

And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; 1 And with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, 1 And shall smite it in the seven streams, 1 And make men go over dryshod. 1

And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, 1 Which shall be left from Assyria; 1 Like as it was to Israel 1 In the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
