Isaiah 2
The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 1
And it shall come to pass in the last days, 1 That the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, 1 And shall be exalted above the hills; 1 And all nations shall flow unto it. 1
And many people shall go and say, 1 Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, 1 To the house of the God of Jacob; 1 And he will teach us of his ways, 1 And we will walk in his paths: 1 For out of Zion shall go forth the law, 1 And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 1
And he shall judge among the nations, 1 And shall rebuke many people: 1 And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, 1 And their spears into pruninghooks: 1 Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, 1 Neither shall they learn war any more. 1
O house of Jacob, come ye, 1 And let us walk in the light of the Lord. 1
Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, 1 Because they be replenished from the east, 1 And are soothsayers like the Philistines, 1 And they please themselves in the children of strangers. 1
Their land also is full of silver and gold, 1 Neither is there any end of their treasures; 1 Their land is also full of horses, 1 Neither is there any end of their chariots: 1
Their land also is full of idols; 1 They worship the work of their own hands, 1 That which their own fingers have made: 1
And the mean man boweth down, 1 And the great man humbleth himself; 1 Therefore forgive them not. 1
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, 1 For fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty. 1
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, 1 And the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, 1 And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. 1
For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, 1 And upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: 1
And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, 1 And upon all the oaks of Bashan, 1
And upon all the high mountains, 1 And upon all the hills that are lifted up, 1
And upon every high tower, 1 And upon every fenced wall, 1
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, 1 And upon all pleasant pictures. 1
And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, 1 And the haughtiness of men shall be made low: 1 And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. 1
And the idols he shall utterly abolish. 1
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, 1 And into the caves of the earth, 1 For fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, 1 When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 1
In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, 1 Which they made each one for himself to worship, 1 To the moles and to the bats; 1
To go into the clifts of the rocks, 1 And into the tops of the ragged rocks, 1 For fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, 1 When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 1
Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: 1 For wherein is he to be accounted of?
