Isaiah 55
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, 1 And he that hath no money; 1 Come ye, buy, and eat; 1 Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 1
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? 1 And your labour for that which satisfieth not? 1 Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, 1 And let your soul delight itself in fatness. 1
Incline your ear, and come unto me: 1 Hear, and your soul shall live; 1 And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, 1 Even the sure mercies of David. 1
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, 1 A leader and commander to the people. 1
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, 1 And nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee 1 Because of the Lord thy God, 1 And for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 1
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, 1 Call ye upon him while he is near: 1
Let the wicked forsake his way, 1 And the unrighteous man his thoughts: 1 And let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; 1 And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 1
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, 1 Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 1
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, 1 So are my ways higher than your ways, 1 And my thoughts than your thoughts. 1
For as the rain cometh down, 1 And the snow from heaven, 1 And returneth not thither, 1 But watereth the earth, 1 And maketh it bring forth and bud, 1 That it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 1
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: 1 It shall not return unto me void, 1 But it shall accomplish that which I please, 1 And it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 1
For ye shall go out with joy, 1 And be led forth with peace: 1 The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, 1 And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 1
Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, 1 And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: 1 And it shall be to the Lord for a name, 1 For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
