Isaiah 2
The Davar that Yeshayah ben Amotz saw concerning Yehudah and Yerushalayim. 1
And it shall come to pass in the acharit hayamim, 1 that the Har Beis Hashem shall be established 1 as the rosh of the mountains, 1 and shall be exalted above the hills; 1 and all the Goyim shall flow unto it. 1
And amim rabbim (many peoples) shall come and say, 1 Come ye, and let us go up to Har Hashem, 1 to the Beis Elohei Ya'akov; 1 and He will teach us of His Derakhim, 1 and we will walk in His Orakhot; 1 for out of Tziyon shall go forth the torah, 1 and the Devar Hashem from Yerushalayim. 1
And He shall judge among the Goyim, 1 and shall arbitrate for amim rabbim; 1 and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, 1 and their spears into pruning hooks; 1 Goy shall not lift up cherev against Goy, 1 neither shall they train for milchamah any more. 1
O Bais Ya'akov, come ye, and let us walk 1 in the Ohr Hashem. 1
Therefore Thou hast abandoned Thy people Bais Ya'akov, 1 because they have found their fullness from Kedem (the East), 1 and practice divination like the Pelishtim, 1 and they clasp hands contentedly with yaldei nochrim (children of foreigners). 1
Their land also is full of kesef and zahav, 1 neither is there any end of their otzarot; 1 their land is also full of susim, 1 neither is there any end of their merkevot: 1
Their land also is full of elilim; 1 they worship the work of their own hands, 1 that which their own etzbe'ot have made; 1
And adam are humbled 1 and ish are brought low; 1 therefore forgive them not. 1
Enter into the Tzur, 1 and hide thee in the aphar, 1 for pachad Hashem, 1 and for the hadar of His majesty. 1
The lofty looks of adam shall be humbled, 1 and the haughtiness of anashim shall be brought low, 1 and Hashem alone shall be exalted in Yom Hahu. 1
For the Yom L' Hashem Tzva'os shall be 1 upon every one that is proud and lofty, 1 and upon every one that is lifted up; 1 and he shall be brought low: 1
And upon all the cedars of Levanon, 1 that are high and lofty, 1 and upon all the oaks of Bashan, 1
And upon kol heharim, 1 and upon all the hills that are lifted up, 1
And upon every lofty migdal, 1 and upon every fortified chomah (wall), 1
And upon all the oniyyot of Tarshish, 1 and upon all the beautiful ships. 1
And the haughtiness of adam shall be humbled, 1 and the pride of anashim shall be brought low; 1 and Hashem alone shall be exalted in Yom Hahu. 1
And the elilim shall utterly pass away. 1
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, 1 and into the caves of aphar, 1 for pachad (terror of) Hashem, 1 and for the hadar of His majesty, 1 when He ariseth to shake ha'aretz. 1
In Yom Hahu a man shall cast 1 his elilei kesef, and his elilei zahav, 1 which they made each one for himself to worship, 1 to the moles and to the bats; 1
To go into the clefts of the rocks, 1 and into the tops of the crags 1 before pachad (terror) of Hashem, 1 and for the hadar of His majesty, 1 when He ariseth to shake ha'aretz. 1
Cease ye from HaAdam, whose neshamah is in his nostrils: 1 for of what account is he?
